Westville Girls' High School, also known as WGHS, is a public school for girls in Westville, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
The school was founded in January 1964 with 219 pupils, when Westville High School was split into two single-sex schools, and has grown to the current c. 1050 pupils. It has a house system with six houses.
Motto
The school motto, "Incepto ne destitam", is Latin, and is taken from Virgil's Aeneid. According to the school's Code of Conduct for Learners, "May I not shrink from my purpose" is a literal translation, but "Stay the course" is an appropriate colloquial translation.
