Raphael Masunga Chegeni is a Member of Parliament in the National Assembly of
Tanzania .
Raphael Chegeni has a background in Financial Administration and a Docotrate from Washington International University. He is Secretary General on the Amani Forum of The Great Lakes Reg Parliamentary Forum (for Peace) [http://www.amaniforum.org/] and East Africa Chapter Representative on the Parliamentary Network of the World Bank. He is a member of Chama Cha Mapinduzi - CCM, the governing party in Tanzania. Chegeni serves on the Council of Parliamentary Network for Nuclear Disarmament as part of the Middle Power Initiative [http://www.middlepowers.org/pnnd/council.html] . In 2004, he joined the
Parliamentarians for Global Action Community Development and Relief Agency
In an effort to tackle the challenges his constinuecy faces, Chegeni works both in politics and through an NGO in his region. He has been the chairman of The
Community Development and Relief Agency (CODRA) since it was founded in 2001. CODRA is a Non-Governmental Organisation to work with the poor or marginalised sections of society, to help them achieve sustainable socio-economic growth. Projects include providing modern water supplies to villages, education, health, good governance education to district leaders, entrepuer and micro-credit support. CODRA has received funding from foreign governments, NGOs, and especially the Scandivanian and Japanese governments.Education
