Adrian Blincoe

Adrian Blincoe (born 4 November 1979 in Auckland) is a New Zealand middle distance runner who specializes mainly in the 1500 metres. He also competes in the 800 metres, in the 3000 metres and in the 5000 metres. After some recent (2007) success, including running a World Championships and Olympic Games qualifying time, over the latter distance it has been suggested that Adrian might soon specialise as a 5000m runner but he has stated a preference to continue to compete at 1500m until at least the 2008 Olympics. Adrian attended university in the United States at Villanova, where he was coached by three-time world champion Marcus O'Sullivan. He was a 7-time All-American at Villanova in cross country, indoor and outdoor track. He holds the Villanova school record in the 3000 meters, and was both an NCAA champion and runner-up at that distance.
