Saint Pothinus (Photinus) ( _fr. Saint Pothin) (c. 87-177 AD) was a martyr and bishop of Lyon. He was martyred along with Alexander, Attalus, Espagathus, Maturus, and Sanctius during the persecutions of Marcus Aurelius.

A letter attributed to Irenaeus records their martyrdom; it was sent from the Christian communities of Lyon and Vienne to the Roman province of Asia. This letter states that Pothinus was the ninety-year old bishop of Lyon who was seized by a mob along with several companions.

Brought before the magistrate, the old bishop died from abuse in prison, while the others were killed by wild beasts in the local amphitheater. A martyr killed around this time was the slave-girl Blandina. A fifteen-year-old boy named Ponticus was also killed around this time and is also honored as a martyr.
