- Teshik-Tash
Teshik-Tash is an archaeological site in
Uzbekistan in centralAsia , and the easternmost site to contain remains of theNeanderthal people. The inhabitants were "Transition Neanderthals" rather than "Classic Neanderthals." The site includes the remains of a Neanderthal child in association withIbex horns which may have been funerary offerings. The intentional burial of this child is, however, questionable, as his remains were gnawed on by carnivores.ources
