Bolton Incinerator

Bolton Incinerator

The Bolton Incinerator was constructed in 1971 and is a major landmark on Bolton's skyline. [ [http://www.pbpower.net/whatwedo/gen/env/bolton.htm Bolton EfW plant] , "www.pbpower.net", Accessed 27.11.06] The incinerator burns up to 20 tonnes of household waste per hour and can generate up to 11 MW of electricity. The plant is operated by Greater Manchester Waste. The Bolton Incinerator is the only household waste incinerator in Greater Manchester.
