He is considered the last of the great player generation of Greek soccer, nicknamed "Μεγαλέξανδρος" ("Alexander the Great") of Greek football. He was certainly one who possessed skillful soccer talent. A virtuoso of the ball, where he was established as a potent forward but as well as a player that could organize the whole game for a team.
He played for PAOK Thessaloniki FC from 1964 until 1983, appearing in 504
Alpha Ethniki games, scoring 134 goals.On
August 16 ,1966 Giorgos Koudas made his debut with Olympiakos. Sports general secretaryCostas Aslanidis ' initiative though, to forbid the trades between big clubs, forced Koudas to return to PAOK.He had 43 appearances for the National team of Greece (4 goals) in the period of 1967-1982.
