Central Bosnia Canton

The Central Bosnia Canton is one of the ten cantons of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Geography

It is located in the center of the country, to the west of Sarajevo. The center of canton government is Travnik.

Municipalities

The canton is split into the municipalities of Bugojno, Busovača, Dobretići, Donji Vakuf, Fojnica, Gornji Vakuf - Uskoplje, Jajce, Kiseljak, Kreševo, Novi Travnik, Travnik, Vitez.

Ethnic groups

The largest ethnic group in the canton are Bosniaks (living mostly in the municipalities of Jajce, Novi Travnik, Travnik, Donji Vakuf, Bugojno, Gornji Vakuf - Uskoplje, Vitez, Busovaca, Fojnica and Kiseljak), and the second largest are Croats (living mostly in the municipalities of Jajce, Dobretići, Novi Travnik, Vitez, Busovača, Kiseljak, and Kreševo, Gornji Vakuf - Uskoplje, and Fojnica).

Canton had population of 339,702 of which were:
*Bosniaks: 146,608 or 43.2%
*Croats: 131,744 or 38.8%
*Serbs: 40,809 or 12.0%
*Yugoslavs: 13,803 or 4.1%
*Others: 6,738 or 1.9%
