The largest ethnic group in the canton are
Bosniaks (living mostly in the municipalities of Jajce, Novi Travnik, Travnik, Donji Vakuf, Bugojno, Gornji Vakuf - Uskoplje, Vitez, Busovaca, Fojnica and Kiseljak), and the second largest areCroats (living mostly in the municipalities of Jajce, Dobretići, Novi Travnik, Vitez, Busovača, Kiseljak, and Kreševo, Gornji Vakuf - Uskoplje, and Fojnica).Demographics in 1991
Canton had population of 339,702 of which were:
*Bosniaks: 146,608 or 43.2%
*Croats: 131,744 or 38.8%
*Serbs: 40,809 or 12.0%
