WLAT is a radio station based in Hartford, Connecticut, in the United States. They play Spanish Language Hit Music. Their city of license is New Britain, Connecticut. Owned by Gois Broadcasting, WLAT broadcasts with 5,000 Watts day and night from towers located behind the Connecticut School of Broadcasting on Birdseye Road in Farmington (also known as "Radio Park"). Studios are at 330 Main Street, Hartford, Connecticut.

On August 17, 2007, the main antenna facility was damaged by an electric storm and the station applied and received approval from the FCC to operate at reduced power. [http://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/cdbs/forms/prod/cdbsmenu.hts?context=25&appn=101201706&formid=911&fac_num=1911] .

The Licensee of the station (Freedom Communications of Connecticut) is in bankruptcy, with Patrick Communications acting as receiver. The station is operating under a LMA pending completion of the sale of the station to Gois Broadcasting. [http://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/prod/cdbs/forms/prod/getattachment_exh.cgi?exhibit_id=585082] . FCC approval of the sale was granted on Dec 19, 2007 [http://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/cdbs/pubacc/prod/app_det.pl?Application_id=1205974] , but as of Jan 30, 2008 the FCC records do not show the transfer as completed.

HistoryThis station originally came on the air in 1949 as WHAY with studios in New Britain, CT and the transmitter at the present location on Birdseye Rd (but with the transmitter in a different building, now gone). The call letters were changed in 1961 to WRCH and a few years later the station adoped a beautiful music format. In 1967 new studios were constructed at the tower site on Birdseye Road. They called the facility "Radio Towers Park". The call letters were changed to WRCQ ("91 Q") in the 1974. After American Radio purchased the station in the late eighties the format was changed to rebroadcasting CNN Headline News. In 1998 Mega Broadcasting purchased the station and changed the format to Spanish and the call letters to WNEZ. At that time the studios were off Route 6 in Farmington. In 2000, Mega moved the studios to 330 Main Street in Hartford. In 2001 Mega swapped the call letters with their other Hartford area station (1230 Manchester) and the result was that 910 became WLAT. The station was purchased by Freedom Communications in 2002.
