Members in the band have previously affiliated with other groups such as Nexus Six, Portraits of Past, Living War Room, Lost Ground, Sheep Squeeze, and Takaru. Though rooted in first wave emo, hardcore emo, and early screamo characteristics, the band has bridged out into territories such as hardcore punk, grindcore, post-rock, and even indie rock.
