- Stanley Fort
Stanley Fort is a military position on the south side of
Hong Kong Island .The fort, which occupied a site of 128 hectares [ [http://sunzi1.lib.hku.hk/newspaper/view/01_03.03/138561.pdf BARRACKS INVOLVED] , Hong Kong Standard, March 24, 1985] , at one time served as a garrison for the
British Armed Forces in Hong Kong. After the British Army ceased to use it, the area became the Kai Chi Children's Centre and the Aberdeen Rehabilitation Center. Today the fort is occupied by a garrison of the ChinesePeople's Liberation Army .The Stanley Battery Gun Emplacement at Stanley Fort is listed as one of the Grade I historic buildings and thus is protected under the
Antiquities and Monuments Ordinance .References
