Abiod Valley

The Abiod Valley, aka Oued El Abiod, is a mountain pass in the Aurés massif, located in the Saharan Atlas in northeastern Algeria. The vegetation in the highlands on the north end of the valley is typically Mediterranean with dense forests of oaks, pines and ancient cedars. The southern part is mainly desert with little vegetation.

The valley has several Oases which include the village of Ghoufi.

It is included in the Readers Digest publication "Natural Wonders of the World".
