Korey Banks (born
August 15 ,1979 inBoynton Beach ,Florida ) is adefensive back for theBC Lions of theCanadian Football League .Banks wears number 24 and went to
Mississippi State University . Banks is 5'11" tall and weighs 178 lbs. In 2003, he signed as an undrafted rookie with theMiami Dolphins of theNational Football League . He was waived after training camp onAugust 31 , 2003. The Dolphins put him on waivers and he was assigned to the practice squad onNovember 11 . OnNovember 24 , he was released by the Dolphins. Miami re-signed him onDecember 31 , 2003 and he played in their last two games. He was acquired by theOttawa Renegades in a late season trade in 2004. He was on Edmonton's practice roster. He had 7 tackles in 3 games for Ottawa.Korey had an outstanding2005 season with a league-leading 10 interceptions, 2 touchdowns, 44 tackles, 12 pass knockdowns, 2 forced fumbles and 1 fumble recovery. When the Renegades were suspended after the 2005 season, Banks was drafted in the first round, 6th overall, by the BC Lions in the 2006 Ottawa dispersal draft. Banks recorded a touchdown and 7 interceptions in his first season with the Lions in which he helped them win the
94th Grey Cup . He has two sons, Korey Jr. and Kamden, and is cousins withArizona Cardinals wide receiverAnquan Boldin and former Miami Dolphins running backAutry Denson .External links
