The Convo is an internet radio show/podcast hosted on Blogtalkradio. It runs every Tuesday and Thursday night at 11:30pm Eastern Time. Most episodes last an hour, during which the hosts talk amongst themselves about random and usually unplanned topics. The show is hosted by Travis Hill and his co-host, Sledge.

History

The Convo first aired on July 17 2007 on BlogTalkRadio. It was originally hosted by Travis Hill and Trezmai. Travis originally wanted to do a podcast with a format akin to a radio morning show, but changed his mind after hearing Kevin Smith's SModcast, a weekly podcast in which filmmaker Kevin Smith and his producer Scott Mosier have a conversation back and forth for almost an hour. He found a co-host in Trezmai, whom he had met on Myspace. They took their idea to BlogTalkRadio after Travis heard another show on the network.

Pirate Master Interviews

In an attempt to bolster ratings and keep things fresh, Travis and Trezmai decided to attempt to bring in celebrities to participate in the show. The first guest they had on the show was Kendra Guffey, who had competed on the CBS reality show Pirate Master. Her episode aired live on August 23 2007. Following the success of that episode, other Pirate Master cast members were interviewed: Azmyth Kaminski on August 30 2007; Christa DeAngelo on September 4 2007; and Louie Frase on September 18 2007. Both Kendra and Christa have stayed in contact with Travis, and have come back to the show during special episodes.

NowLive.com

Looking for a change of scenery, Travis and Trezmai decided to possibly move the show away from BlogTalkRadio in early September, 2007. Travis found another website, [http://www.nowlive.com nowlive.com] , which also allowed users to host their own shows for free. On September 11 2007, The Convo aired live on Nowlive.com. The appearance on the new site would only last two episodes, on the second of which they interviewed Louie Frase (see above). Eventually, the show went back to BlogTalkRadio.

In late September, 2007, Trezmai left for vacation in Ireland. Not wanting to skip a week's worth of shows until she came back, Travis started looking for a temporary co-host to fill in while Trezmai was gone. He found this replacement in Sledge, whom he had met during the show's short tenure on Nowlive.com.

Sledge was the host of "Sledge's Smackdown", a comedy/variety show that aired Sunday nights on Nowlive.com. After one of Sledge's shows, Travis asked if he would be willing to sit in during Trezmai's absence. Sledge agreed and was the guest host on the September 27 2007 episode, entitled "Sledge Puts the Smack Down". Sledge became a permanent member of the crew a week later.

Trezmai's Departure

After two months of working with Sledge and Travis, Trezmai decided to leave the show. She cited issues with being a treated like a subordinate and being ignored during the shows. Giving one week's notice, she recorded her final episode on November 27 2007. Entitled "A Tribute to Trezmai", her last show featured Trezmai's Top 5 moments on the show, as well as a tearful goodbye. Still a supporter of the show, she will drop in on occasion to say hi to the guys.

The-Convo.com

On January 27 2008, Travis and Sledge unveiled the show's official website: [http://www.the-convo.com/ www.the-convo.com] . The site was designed by Travis and coded entirely by Sledge. It features the show's official blog, biographies of the hosts, a forum for fans to talk about the show, and a complete archive of all the past episodes. It also is home to the PodPlayer, the official podcast widget of the show, which streams all of the podcasts directly from the servers.

Time Change

On February 26 2008, the show moved up its live airing time from 1:00am Eastern to 11:30pm Eastern. This was an attempt to help raise the ratings for the live broadcast on BlogTalkRadio. The show still lasts an hour, ending at 12:30am Eastern.
