Logo.sys

Logo.sys is a system file used by DOS-based Windows versions such as Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows Me to display its boot-up message.

Logo.sys And Other Screens Displayed

* C:Logo.sys: "Starting Windows 9x..." (a default Logo.sys file is also stored in IO.SYS)
* C:WindowsLogow.sys: "Please wait while Windows is shutting down"
* C:WindowsLogos.sys: "It is now safe to turn off your computer"

Contents

Logo.sys is a RGB encoded Bitmap file with a maximum resolution of 320×400 at 256 colors.Windows stretches it to 640×480 pixels while it is visible.For logo.sys, Windows will also "animate" the images color info using palette rotation. The file can be opened with Microsoft Paint to view the contents.
