Fort Hold

Fort Hold

Fort Hold is a location in the fictional Pern universe. It is located to the West of the Northern continent of Pern. It is Pern's oldest Hold, where the Pern colonists evacuated after they abandoned the Southern Continent ten Turns after arriving on Pern, due to the geological unstability of the southern continent. Colonists Sallah Telgar and Tarvi Andiyar discovered the cave network. In Pern's early history, the colonists established a College at Fort Hold which evolved into the Harper Hall during the Second Pass. The Masterhealer is located at Fort Hold , until the Sixth Pass as a part of the Harper Hall, after that in a separate hall. During Threadfall, Fort Hold is protected by dragons from Fort Weyr.
