Cobb ,Frances Farmer , andLuther Adler were among the cast directed byElia Kazan , who had directed Ardrey's play "Casey Jones" in 1938."Thunder Rock" closed after only 23 performances in
New York City , but after a far more successful theatre run inLondon it was acquired and filmed, starringMichael Redgrave andJames Mason , byJohn and Roy Boulting 's Charter Films.
