Toronto Balmy Beach Beachers
- Toronto Balmy Beach Beachers
Toronto Balmy Beach Beachers was a member of the Ontario Rugby Football Union, a league that preceded the Canadian Football League. They won the Grey Cup in 1927 and 1930 and were finalists in 1924 when they lost to Queen's University and in 1940 when they lost to the Ottawa Roughriders. The team struggled in the 1950s as other teams began importing American players. The Beachers were unable to pay the big salaries and maintained an all-Canadian team which became increasingly less competitive. The team folded after the 1957 season when it lost every game it played.
