Jonathan Willcocks

Jonathan Willcocks, son of Sir David Willcocks, is an English composer. He has been the director of the Junior Academy, Royal Academy of Music in London since 1989 as well as the conductor and musical director of the Portsmouth Choral Union and Chichester Singers, and of the professional chamber orchestra Southern Pro Musica.

Works

*"A Great and Glorious Victory" for tenor solo, chorus and orchestra (3 trumpets, timpani, percussion, organ and strings). This work was commissioned by the Portsmouth Choral Union to mark the bicentenary of the Battle of Trafalgar in October 2005, and has since been performed by the Epsom Choral Society in November 2006 under the baton of Robin Kimber.
