Bootie Brown (born Romye Robinson in 1970) is a West Coast rapper who was one of the four founding members of the innovative hip hop group The Pharcyde. He has done very few collaborations outside of the group and is currently working with the remaining Pharcyde member Imani on new projects with their indie label.

Early Years

Two For Two

Bootie Brown began his career in the entertainment industry as a dancer and choreographer under the moniker "Two For Two" with high school friends Slimkid3 (Tre Hardson) and Imani (Emandu Wilcox). They have made numerous appearances in music videos. Two For Two had its most notable exposure with a short stint on the television show "In Living Color".

The Pharcyde

As a member of The Pharcyde, Romye has contributed to the critically acclaimed "Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde", as well as its follow up release "Labcabincalifornia". He also worked on the third full length LP "Plain Rap" (released November 7, 2000) with the two remaining members of The Pharcyde after Fatlip's departure. Bootie is mostly known for having the highest of voices of the original Pharcyde group, not including Imani.

Imani and Bootie Brown have since released a Pharcyde album titled "Humboldt Beginnings" with producer Spaceboy Boogie X. Romye is now working on the next album by The Pharcyde titled "Eclectic Compassion".

Pitch Hitters

Pitch Hitters is a producing group formed by Spaceboy Boogie X and Bootie Brown. The group produces beats, remixes and collaborates with other hip hop artists.

Collaborations

Bootie Brown is featured on the compilation "The Prof. in Con-Vexed" with the song "I Smoke", released by Nature Sounds in 2003.

His collaboration with Gorillaz on their album "Demon Days", the track "Dirty Harry," was released as a single on November 21, 2005.
