- Physical Fitness Badge
The Physical Fitness Badge is an award of the
United States Army and is presented to those soldiers who obtain a score of 270 (or higher, with a score of 90 or above in each event) on the 300-point scale of the Army’s physical fitness test. The Physical Fitness Badge is intended to recognize those who have excelled inphysical fitness , which is one of the main areas of training for theUnited States military .The badge was first authorized by the Secretary of the Army in June
1986 . The first issuance was onOctober 1 , 1986. The Physical Fitness Badge is the only official United States Army badge, recognized by theInstitute of Heraldry , which cannot be worn on a dress military uniform. Regulations permit the wear of the Physical Fitness Badge on thephysical training uniform only, and there are no provisions for displaying the award on any other uniform of the U.S. Army.See also
