Aristides Agramonte y Simoni (bornJune 3 ,1868 inCamagüey ,Cuba ; diedAugust 19 ,1931 inNew Orleans ,Louisiana ,United States ) was an American physician, pathologist and bacteriologist with expertise in tropical medicine. He served on theYellow Fever Commission , a U.S. Army Commission led byWalter Reed which examined the transmission ofyellow fever . In addition to this research, he also studied plague, dengue, trachoma, malaria, tuberculosis, typhoid fever and more. After serving on the Yellow Fever Commission, he served as a professor at theUniversity of Havana as well as many government positions.References
