Brady Hoke is the current head football coach at Ball State University. As a player Hoke was a four-year football letterman and defensive stand out for Ball State. He was part of the 1978 team that won the Mid-American Conference. Before coming to Ball State, Hoke was an assistant coach at Michigan.

Hoke was a coaching candidate for the Washington State head coaching position following the 2007 season after making Ball State bowl eligible for the first time in 11 years. A report from the "Detroit Free Press" stated that Michigan informally contacted Hoke about the Wolverine head coaching vacancy.

Hoke is the brother of Jon Hoke, the defensive backs coach of the Houston Texans.
