jerboa in the subfamily Allactaginae. The species is listed as critically endangered by theIUCN red list . It is only found (and known from) one small population inIran . They were found on a flat plain with a gravel substrate and sparse, mountain steppe vegetation. It is anocturnal animal spending the day in underground burrows. This jerboa has a vegetarian diet. It is threatened by habitat loss and restricted range.References
