Deans is a small community within the town of Livingston in West Lothian, Scotland. Deans is situated in the northern part of Livingston, in an area formerly known as Livingston Station, as it is the location of former oil works and a railway station. Many people who have lived in this area for a long time often refer to it as such.
Deans has three primary schools, Deans Primary, Meldrum Primary and St John's RC Primary. There is also a brand new built secondary school, Deans Community High. There are small shops and sit-in and take-away restaurants. It also has an old-people's home called Restondene. The town is host to some very old houses. It has an urban area called Deans South. Deans also has an industrial estate that houses a number of businesses, including Tesco.
Deans has a Masonic Hall, which is home to two lodges: Lodge St Andrew Livingston Station number 1587 and Lodge Buchan St John 636, both under the roll of the Grand Lodge of Scotland. The Deans Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Strathbrock Royal Arch Chapter and Cryptic Council also meet there.
