Leos Janacek International Competition

The Leos Janacek International Competition ( _cs. Mezinárodní soutěž Leoše Janáčka) has been announced by the Faculty of Music of the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno since 1994, Czech Republic. The competition is annually hold for disciplines relating to Janáček’s works.

The age limit is 28 year of age for solo disciplines (the candidate must not be twenty-five on the opening day), for string quartets the sum of its members’ age must not exceed 112 years.

In four-year cycles, the following disciplines regularly take turns:
*Voice (2009, 2013,...)
*String Quartet (2010, 2014,...)
*Violin (2011, 2015,...)
*Piano (2012, 2016,...)
