Wake-up call (service)

Wake-up call (service)

A wake-up call (alarm call in the UK) is a service provided by most lodging establishments to provide a service similar to alarm clocks via a telephone.

It has come to be used to describe an event that brings about a sudden realization in both the US and UK.

A wake-up service was a central element in the plot of the "Seinfeld" episode "The Wink".
