- Zinke nitration
The Zinke nitration is an
organic reaction in which abromine substituent of aphenol orcresol is replaced by anitro group by treatment withnitrous acid orsodium nitrite . [Zincke, Th., J . prakt. Chem., [2] 61, 563 (1900).] The reaction is a manifestation ofnucleophilic aromatic substitution . The reaction is named afterTheodor Zincke .Two examples: ["The Nitration of Brominated Fluorophenols by the Zincke Method" L. Chas. Raiford and Arthur L. LeRosen
