Camden Road railway station is in the London Borough of Camden in North London. The station and all trains serving it are operated by London Overground. It is in Travelcard Zone 2.
The present station, at the corner of Royal College Street and Camden Road, was opened as Camden Town by the North London Railway on the North London Line on 8 December 1870. It was renamed Camden Road on 25 September 1950 to avoid confusion with London Underground's Camden Town on the Northern Line which is 300 metres to the southwest, however the accompanying 2008 photograph shows the original name still displayed on the parapet.
Services
The typical weekday service is four trains per hour westbound to Richmond via Willesden Junction, and four trains per hour eastbound to Stratford via Highbury & Islington and Hackney Central.
There is now no normal passenger service on the line from Camden Road to Willesden Junction Low Level via Queens Park.
Midland Railway station
The Midland Railway opened its Camden Road railway station in 1868 on the extension to St Pancras station. It closed in 1916. It was about 500 metres east of the present station.
