- Carinthian Blondvieh
The Carinthian Blondvieh is an old cattle breed that is native to Carinthia in

Uniformly white to pale yellow cattle with light coloured mouth, horns and claws. Cows weigh 500-600 kg, bulls 800-850 kg. The Blondvieh was once draft animal as well as a milk and beef producer.
History
The date of origin is unknown. Dr. Adolf Gstirner sees the Blondvieh as descendant of the
Slovenian Cattle that came withSlavic people to Carinthia. They were crossed with theGelbvieh to form a new breed.Population
2002: 421 cows - 42 bulls
2005: 524 cows - 40 bulls - 323 calves
