The river begins in the mountains of
Lykaio to the north in an area filled with grasslands, rocks, a few bushes and rarely some trees, villages lie within the river area. Since2001 , the GR-7 runs on the east side of the valley and southward, its entirety. The river enter the Pamisos valley or the plain. and passes the bridge of GR-9A (E55 ) and into the towns of Zevgolatio andMeligala , it flows near Eva,Aris Messinias where we find the "fragma" (dam) which helps irrigate a big part of the Messinian valley and east of modernMessini as well as the GR-82 and further south empties into theIonian Sea with theMessenian Gulf .Places within the river
