The Balmain bug, "Ibacus peronii", is a type of slipper lobster. It is found at depths of 20–500 m off the coast of Australia from Southport in Queensland to Geraldton in Western Australia, and off the coast of New Zealand cite web |url=http://faunanet.gov.au/wos/factfile.cfm?Fact_ID=72 |title=Balmain Bug, Flapjack Fact File |publisher=Australian Museum] . It is named after Balmain, New South Wales, and is commonly sold in fish markets in the Sydney area .
