He died two days after crashing at Assen,Holland during the 1995Superbike World Championship race, riding aYamaha YZF750 , when he rode over an oil that had been spilt by aDucati 916 , as a result of the fall, the Yamaha landed on top of him causing serious him to fall into a coma. He never regained consciousness following the crash.
