Yasutomo Nagai

was a motorcycle road racer from Japan, born in Koshigaya. He died two days after crashing at Assen, Holland during the 1995 Superbike World Championship race, riding a Yamaha YZF750, when he rode over an oil that had been spilt by a Ducati 916, as a result of the fall, the Yamaha landed on top of him causing serious him to fall into a coma. He never regained consciousness following the crash. He took two pole positions in the championship, becoming the first Japanese to take a Superbike World Championship pole outside Japan in Austria in SBK|1995, and four podiums. Despite not starting the final 2 rounds of the season he was 5th overall in the SBK|1995 standings. Yamaha retired its Superbike World Championship team for the two final rounds of the season.

Prior to this he had raced in Japan's All-Japan Road Racing Championship for many years, spending seven years with Yamaha. He was also a member of the 1994 Bol d'or winning Yamaha France team with Dominique and Christian Sarron.
