Šoporňa is a
village andmunicipality inGalanta District of theTrnava Region of south-westSlovakia .History
In historical records the
village was first mentioned in1251 , it was called SUPURNI. The name is changed in 1411 into SOPORNY and later 1420 into SOPORNOK. In the end of 18th century it is the town of 295 houses and almost 2000 inhabitants. The beginning of the administrative work of the town and its autonomy is from 17th century with own seal.Geography
The
municipality lies at anelevation of 129metres and covers anarea of 31.394 km². It has apopulation of about 4149 people.Architectural monument
Chapel of St. Anna
The chapel was build in 1750. To this date is after reconstruction.
