Home for Human Rights

The Home for Human Rights (HHR) is one of Sri Lanka's oldest human rights organizations. It was established in 1977, They have been working to defend the fundamental human rights of Sri Lankans in the courts and their communities. With only six offices across the country, they defend the rights of a broad section of the Sri Lankan population, from battered women in the north, to refugees in the west, to plantation workers in the hill country, to tsunami victims in the east.

Currently they are focusing on the rampant Extra Judicial Killings Sri Lanka since 2005. Recently one of their former employees and a human rights lawyer N. Raviraj was killed on November 10, 2006 by unidentified gunmen.
