Frank Lister (born September 3, 1943 in Kingston upon Hull, England) is former soccer player. He emigrated to Australia in 1959.

Career

Frank Lister approached the Adelaide Croatia Soccer Club in 1959, where he started playing as a junior. The following year he was promoted to the first team where he played for nine seasons, captaining the team for several of them.

In 1970, he joined Juventus where he quickly moved to the captain position again wearing the familiar number 5 jersey. He stayed as captain when Juventus changed their name to Adelaide City and the Philips National Soccer League began in 1977. He was the first player to toss the coin in the competition given the time difference between South Australia and the eastern states. At the end of the 1977 season, he won the Golden Boots award for best and fairest player.

Lister stayed at Adelaide City until the end of the 1978 season when he went to play for Para Hills Knights in the Adelaide first division for a further 2 seasons before retiring.
