Sayo is one of the 180
woreda s in theOromia Region ofEthiopia . This woreda received its name from the old name of its major town,Dembidolo .Part of the
Mirab Welega Zone , Sayo is bordered on the south by theGambela Region , on the west by Anfillo, on the north byHawa Welele , and on the east by theBirbir River which separates it from theIllubabor Zone .Coffee is an important cash crop of this woreda. Over 50 square kilometres is planted with this crop. With an estimated area of 1,219.69 km², Sayo has an estimated population density of 132.3 people/km², which is greater than the Zone average of 91.7. Sayo is also a beautiful and very popular name within Ethiopian culture which means "happiness".
