Scott Horvath was selected in the 6th Round, 184th overall, by the
Colorado Avalanche in the 2001National Hockey League (NHL) entry draft.Post-draft, Horvath returned to
UMASS Amherst , to play for the Minutemen in the NCAAHockey East Association before traveling to Canada to skate in theOntario Hockey League (OHL) with the Toronto St. Michael's Majors between the years of 2001–03. During this same time period, Horvath attended training camps for theColorado Avalanche andDetroit Red Wings .Following a successful career in the OHL, the power forward played with the
Toledo Storm and theAtlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of theEast Coast Hockey League (ECHL) between 2003 and 2005. During the 2005–06 season Horvath played in theUnited Hockey League (UHL), with thePort Huron Flags , following an early season trade from theMissouri River Otters .External links
