Pleurodont

Pleurodont is a formation of the teeth that are fused (ankylosed) by their sides to the inner surface of the jaw bones. [Plough, F. H. et al. (2002) "Vertebrate Life", 6th Ed. Prentice Hall Inc., Upper Saddle River, NJ. ISBN 0130412481] This formation is common in the order Squamata.
