Amlan Dutta

Amlan Dutta ( _bn. অম্লান দত্ত) was born in the Comilla district of undivided India in the year 1924. He was a top ranker at the university. He started his career in teaching profession in the year 1947. He was the director of the Gandhi Education Trust from 1978-1979. He served as the Vice Chancellor of North Bengal University and Visva Bharati. He has lectured in the United States of America, talked about Mahatma Gandhi in Australia, and talked about Rabindranath Tagore in China. He has talked about economic development and education-challenges at many forums in India and abroad (viz. Japan, Denmark and the West Indies).
He was joint editor of Quest-magazine along with Abu Sayeed Ayub. He also has represented India at United Nations Social Development Commission in 1979. He was invited to deliver the 'Kamala Lecture Series' in 1982 by Calcutta University. His first book was published in 1953, titled 'For Democracy'. He has written prolifically afterwards (medium being bengali/English). He received the Vidyasagar Award in 1999.
