Nick Schwellenbach

Nick Schwellenbach (born March 20, 1982 in Houston, TX) is a writer and researcher in Washington, D.C who focused on government oversight, especially over national security issues. He worked at the Project on Government Oversight (POGO) as an investigator. Schwellenbach has lived most of his life in Texas. He graduated from the University of Texas-Austin in 2004, with a B.A. in History, minoring in Economics. While at UT-Austin, he was heavily involved in the research-oriented student activist group, UT Watch [ [http://utwatch.org/archives/index.html UT Watch Archives | UT Watch on the Web ] ] . There he primarily opposed rising tuition in Texas public higher education and was critical of corporate and military influence over the public research sphere.

Nick Schwellenbach is a distant relative of Senator Lewis B. Schwellenbach, who led supporters of New Deal legislation in the Senate.
