Eugene Izotov (born 1973) is a noted American oboist and recording artist. He is currently the Principal
Oboist of theChicago Symphony Orchestra [http://www.cso.org/] appointed byDaniel Barenboim in 2005. First Russian-born oboist in any major U.S. symphony orchestra. Faculty member ofDePaul University ,Roosevelt University ,Verbier Festival (Switzerland) and [http://www.pmf.jp/E/E_top.html Pacific Music Festival] (Japan). Prior to these posts, he served as the Principal Oboist of theMetropolitan Opera [http://www.metopera.org/] , Associate Principal Oboe of theSan Francisco Symphony [http://www.sfsymphony.org] , Principal Oboist of the Kansas City Symphony and has taught at theJuilliard School and theSan Francisco Conservatory of Music . He studied with the legendary American oboistRalph Gomberg atBoston University , from which he received the Distinguished Alumnus Award.
