History

The station has previously gone under several call signs in its past. At its inception, the station was known as KSXX, changing calls on 1982-06-21 to KZJO. It previously only operated during the day only, but was later allowed to continue broadcasting during the night in 1982 with the change of calls. The station changed its format as well, broadcasting contemporary hits identifying itself as "63 Joe." Six months later, the station changed formats again, to its current format of talk radio and on 1985-08-05, the station changed its call sign to the current KTKK. It now shares tower space with KLLB which broadcasts from a tower out in West Jordan, Utah. Ironically, the KLLB tower will soon have to be demolished due to another housing development. KTKK will move to a new tower near North Salt Lake, Utah.
