- Wongalara Sanctuary
Wongalara Sanctuary is a 1,910 km² (472,000 acre)
nature reserve in theTop End of theNorthern Territory ofAustralia . It is apastoral lease on the southern border ofArnhem Land , and is 120 km south-east ofKakadu National Park . It is owned and managed by theAustralian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC), which acquired it in 2007 following a public fundraising campaign and assistance from the Australian Government in the form of a grant of $2.1 million from its National Reserve System Program.
