Minamoto no Kanetsune

Minamoto no Kanetsuna (?-1180), was son of Yorimasa, participated the first Battle of Uji in 1180 that part of opened Gempei War accompanies his father Yorimasa and brother Nakatsuna to against Taira clan. In Battle of Uji, Minamoto commander Yorimasa realized that his forces unable to stop power Taira. Taira still continued unabated, he was overwhelming of large numerous enemy. He and his sons,Kanetsuna and Nakatsuna, were decided to drive down back to Byodo-In temple with Minamoto armies and sohei. However Taira samurai pursue in order to catch Yorimasa. Yorimasa entered the temple while Kanetsuna and his allies held off the enemy. Kanetsuna saw that his father looked like death trap from Taira who hunting for Yorimasa's worth head. Kanetsuna have comes to help his father for fighing serious situation and stopped a taira forces make try to go in Byodo In for Yorimasa. However Kanetsuna have been hit his helmet and forehead with arrow but he simply wound and brave to contuined fought to Taira so his father would be able to perform and act of Seppuku in temple. However, Kanetsuna's group of samurai weren't good enough to protect them so there were roughly 15 to 20 of Taira samurai suddenly attack or get hold of Kanetsuna and then he was slain. Although, he was a hero for helping and protecting his father before his father committed suicide (seppuku) rather than surrender or suffer.Taira failed to take Yorimasa's head by Yorimasa retainer have head of commander Yorimasa.
