The Skipton Building Society is the sixth largest mutual lending and savings organisation (known as a building society) in the United Kingdom. [http://www.skipton.co.uk/about_us/pdfs/report_accounts_2006.pdf 2006 Report and Accounts] It is a member of the Building Societies Association.

The Society was established in 1853 in Skipton, North Yorkshire. The headquarters are still in Skipton. Assets are over £12bn.
