Enid Nemy

Enid Nemy

Enid Nemy was a reporter and columnist for The New York Times for many years.

She was featured predominantly in the Style section, but she also covered Arts & Leisure and continues to pen the occasional obituary (e.g. Enid Haupt, Betsey Cushing Roosevelt Whitney, Patricia Buckley, Leona Helmsley).

She has also written for other magazines and periodicals, and is also known for her occasionally rather biting quotes.

She wrote her own book, "Hot Potatoes" (ISBN 0-385-46884-9).

Quotes

"Even at the United Nations, where legend has it that the building was designed so that there could be no corner offices, the expanse of glass in individual offices is said to be a dead giveaway as to rank. Five windows are excellent, one window not so great." - Enid Nemy
