Smt Hiraben Nanavati Institute of Management and Research for Women (HNIMR), Puneis an academic institution that has been set up to develop professionals for todays corporate world in India. The Institute primarily aims at imparting relevant education to young women with a view to providing them with the expertise to become effective professionals.HNIMR is set apart from other institutes in the areas of business as well as approach and scope of coverage of the syllabus. The Internal Exams are conducted by giving the students extensive drilling in case studies, live projects (other than the summer projects) presentations, assignments and surprise tests. The students participate in short duration personality development programmes, workshops and seminars on current topics. There is a constant interaction with the corporate world and also gained practical knowledge through industrial visits. This helps the student in keeping abreast of what is happening in the corporate world and a very high level of exposure to modern business techniques and processes. Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha has a century long history of dedicated work towards economic and social upliftment of women. The Samstha was started by Bharat Ratna Maharshi Dhondo Keshav Karve in 1896 as "The Hindu Widows Home Association". Its purpose was to educate widows to make themselves self-reliant. Later, the Samstha diversified its activities in tune with the needs of the society.It has established schools and colleges, hostel for students and working women, it offers comprehensive training centres for women in fields such as teaching, catering, technical training, nursing, bakery etc. Its units are spread in places like Pune, Satara, Wai and Ratnagiri and it has proven its relevance over and over again. The Samstha's units strive for gender equality through education.

Women's Study and Research Centre:-In the era of globalization the Institute has given professional approach to women's education. Samstha's Women's Study Centre also contributes to HNIMR to fulfil its objectives and gives privileges to students always participate in minor social research projects related to women's issues for example effective communication at work place, problems of working women, women and law etc. The centre is recognized by University of Pune to conduct several research projects. Personality development camps, entrepreneurship development program, career counselling, health awareness campaign, psychometric evaluation and such other activities are conducted for the overall understanding and development of students on the campus.

Karvenagar Campus

The campus of Smt. Hiraben Nanavati Institute basks in well maintained greenery and quietued - the perfect setting for learning. This small township houses its sister Institute like Cummins College of Engineering, for Women, Dr. Bhanubhen Nanavati College of Architecture for Women and School of Fashion Technology.Hostels and everyday needs like banks, shopping centres etc. are at walkable distance.
