Ellison Capers Grayson, Jr. (born
7 September 1928 ,St. Paul, Minnesota ) received a BA from theUniversity of Minnesota in 1950 and also holds an honorary LHD.From 1955 to 1981 he was a
General Agent for Home Life Insurance and was Commissioner San Francisco City and County from 1978 1981. He then served as principal deputy assistant secretary to the United States Navy until 1984. Grayson served as director of marketing and development for the Private Sector Council in 1985 and was Vice President of Boyden International from 1987 to 1990. Since 1990 he has been a partner of Spencer Stuart. He has also served on the board of StellarNet and the advisory board Clark/Bardes.Grayson is a Republican who was appointed to several government positions during the terms of
Ronald Reagan andGeorge H. W. Bush . He served as Chairman of the Department of Defense Health Care Cost Containment Task Force in from 1983 to 1984, head of business groups for Reagan Bush in 1984, Finance Director of Donald Rumsfeld's Political Action Committee in 1986, and Co-Chairman of President Bush's National Finance Committee in 1988 and 1992.He was made a
Knight of Malta in 1978. Grayson is a member of theAlfalfa Club ,Bohemian Club and theMetropolitan Club of Washington .References
