Ingaleshwara

Ingaleshwara is a town in Bijapur district of Karnataka state, India. It is a center of pilgrimage for people of the Lingayat faith as it happens to be the place where Basavanna's mother hailed from. Some, like Dr. Chidananda Murthy, a leading historian of Karnataka have claimed that this town and not Basavana Bagewadi as the place where Ba savanna was born.
